Taiz, Yemen — The Military and Security Committee in Taiz has announced its full support for President Rashad al-Alimi’s decision to declare a state of emergency, highlighting the move as essential for strengthening security, safeguarding national unity, and preserving Yemen’s sovereignty.
During an emergency session chaired by Governor Nabil Shamsan, the committee reviewed the current military and security developments, with the attendance of key military and law enforcement officials.
The committee approved a series of steps to enforce the emergency measures, including increased security presence across the city, a ban on carrying firearms within urban areas, and tighter coordination between defense and police forces.
It also called for heightened alertness, public cooperation, and active community involvement to counter ongoing threats from the Houthi militia and ensure the continued stability of the province.
