Yemen has ordered the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to withdraw its forces from the country within 24 hours, after the UAE shifted its stance from supporting Yemen to increasingly supporting separatist forces, particularly the Southern Transitional Council (STC), who recently seized control of the remaining territory of southern and eastern Yemen on the borders with Saudi Arabia.
By a presidential decree, President Rashad al-Alimi announced the cancellation of the joint defense agreement with the UAE and ordered UAE forces to leave the country within 24 hours.
The decree instructs the Shield Forces to take over military camps in Hadramout and Al-Mahra provinces, citing national sovereignty concerns amid escalating tensions.
