A devastating wave of looting and armed attacks has ravaged the city of Seiyun in Hadramout valley, following the entry of Southern Transitional Council (STC) forces from outside the province.
The assault targeted government offices, public properties, and commercial stores owned by citizens from northern provinces, with widespread destruction captured on video footage showing demolished offices, looted warehouses, and stolen official documents.
Local sources confirmed that attacks included service buildings and warehouses containing electronic equipment and furniture belonging to government agencies, with employees estimating losses will take months to assess before compensation or rehabilitation can begin.
The looting extended to Seiyun International Airport, where armed men stole vital equipment including batteries, electric panels, and communication devices.
Experts warn that stolen weapons and equipment could fall into terrorist hands, exacerbating security fragility in the province and endangering civilians and vital institutions.
