The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre's "Masam" landmine clearance project team announced the discovery of an anti-tank minefield in Midi district, northern Hajjah province, following a tip from a local resident.
According to Engineer Saif Al-Mashmari, Team Leader of Masam, the minefield was identified near a populated village, prompting immediate action to cordon off the area and classify it as hazardous.
In a related effort, Masam teams intensified awareness campaigns in western coastal schools to protect students from war remnants hazards as the new academic year began.
Over 230 students at Al-Shadhili School in Mokha district, Taiz province, received education on mine recognition, reporting procedures, and safety precautions.
Ali Al-Raymi, Team Leader of Masam's ninth unit, emphasized that awareness is a "crucial complement" to field clearance operations, targeting schools, markets, and populated areas to prevent casualties.
