One civilian was killed, and two others were injured early this week, as a result of the explosion of landmines planted by the terrorist Houthi militia in Hodeidah Governorate.
Local sources reported that Saleh Mujammal, 44 years old, was killed as a result of a Houthi landmine explosion in the area east of the July 7 Neighborhood, northeast of Al-Hali district.
The sources said that Mujammal and his five-member family had been among those forced to leave their homes by the Houthi militia. After his displacement he had to work in collecting metals and plastic to provide for his family, before a Houthi-laid landmine killed him.
In a separate incident, a 30 year-old man by the name Ahmed Saif and 23 year-old man by the name Abdulrahman Badi were injured as a result of the explosion of a Houthi landmine camouflaged as a tube. The explosion caused shrapnel to hit them in the face, chest and shoulders, causing the two men to lose their sight.
Hodeidah Governorate is one of Yemen's areas most contaminated with landmines and explosives, randomly planted by the sectarian Houthi militia during the past years of ear.
