Human rights organizations have called for urgent action to protect children in Yemen and secure their future, stressing that they are suffering from violence, recruitment, sexual violence, and deprivation of aid.
A joint statement by 22 human rights organizations, on the occasion of World Children's Day, explained that thousands of children have been victims during a decade of war, in addition to serious violations committed against them.
The statement stressed the need to establish international accountability mechanisms; and implement a comprehensive plan to re-register out-of-school children, calling on the Houthi militia to stop their misleading campaign against vaccinations and facilitate unhindered access to basic services for children.
