In parallel with the Houthi escalation of crimes of kidnapping and forced disappearance of civilians in areas under the terrorist militia's control, the militia announced the recent burial of a new batch of unidentified bodies in Hodeidah Governorate, amid doubts that Houthis have begun executing detainees in the terrorist militia's prisons.
Houthi media revealed that the burial of 88 unidentified persons in Hodeidah, and the terrorist militia's self-styled "public prosecution" claimed that the mass burial operation was carried out in coordination with the International Committee of the Red Cross. These bodies had been kept in the morgue of Al-Thawra General Hospital in the governorate.
Lawyers and human rights activists in Sanaa believed that the bodies that were buried by the group belonged to abductees whom the militia had physically eliminated in their run detention facilities.
Since the beginning of this year, the Houthi group announced that it had buried more than 104 bodies of unidentified persons, including 53 unidentified bodies in Sanaa in mid-March 2023, and 89 other bodies in Hodeidah and Dhamar whose burial was announced in late May 2023.
