One death case and a number of injuries were recorded on Tuesday as a result of the hurricane that struck Al-Mahra Governorate, eastern Yemen.
The Director General of Huswain District, Yasser Al-Assad, said that a woman was confirmed dead in the Qadifut area, while other people sustained minor injuries in other parts of the district.
Serious material damage to public and private property and the collapse of a large number of homes were also observed throughout the district.
In addition, the Yemeni Red Crescent branch in Al-Mahra announced that it is evacuating families affected by Cyclone Tej to shelter centers amid difficult conditions, in cooperation with the army, security forces and health operations.
The Red Crescent appealed to the Presidential Council, the government and the Arab Coalition to send planes to rescue those stranded in the floods, pointing out that his emergency teams and vehicles were unable to reach those affected by the hurricane in Al-Ghaydah District, especially Al-Abri, Haft Al-Sada, and Kalshat, as well as the rest of the districts.
