In the speech of the parliamentary blocs, before the round table meeting “Egypt in the Eyes of the Yemenis,” held at the Dailogue Center for Political Studies in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, Al-Hajri appreciated Egypt's role in supporting the legitimate government and the Yemeni people and praised its vision for a political solution
He referred to the pivotal role played by Egypt, led by President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, towards the developments that Yemen has been experiencing since the rebellion of the Houthi group, supported by Iran insisted on constitutional legitimacy and national consensus in September 2014, and the humanitarian catastrophe the Houthis caused by launching a devastating war on Yemen and its people, which is still continuing to this day.
He stressed that Egypt has a major role in supporting the legitimate government, supporting Yemen’s unity and political stability, and in dealing with the security repercussions of this rebellion in Bab al-Mandab and the southern Red Sea.
