Parliament Speaker Sheikh Sultan Al-Barakani said today, Monday, that Houthis are not a serious partner in making peace and that it is not one of their options, and that all past agreements were implemented by government, while Houthis did not implement anything.
Al-Barakani pointed out, during his meeting with the UN envoy to Yemen, Hans Gudenberg, that the truce was exploited by the Houthi militants to re-organize themselves, and nothing was implemented, but the Yemeni people paid a heavy price for Houthi adventures, economically and financially.
Al-Barakani affirmed that Yemeni government supports all options and endeavors for a comprehensive and just peace that preserves Yemen's security, stability, unity, republican system, and democratic approach.
The Vice-President of the Council and the members of the Council also reviewed a number of issues related to the general conditions on the national scene, and the outcome of the economic and humanitarian conditions that the Yemeni people suffer from.. stressing that the experience with Houthis was bitter and that it is an ideological group that does not believe in partnership.
