The leadership of the Executive Office of the Yemeni Islah Party in Hadramout Al-Sahel Governorate met today, Monday in Mukalla, with the delegation of the UN Special Envoy headed by Senior Political Adviser Mr. Masaaki Watanabe,
During the meeting, they discussed a number of issues related to the efforts of the United Nations and its envoy to bring peace to Yemen.
At the outset of the meeting, the Hadramout Islah leadership, headed by the Secretary of the Executive Office of the Islah Party in the coast, Muhammad Balatif, welcomed the visit of the United Nations delegation to the governorate.
The Hadramout Islah leadership emphasized the importance of quickly ending the tragedy of thousands of abductees and forcibly disappeared activists in Houthi prisons, mainly politician Muhammad Qahtan, who has been disappeared for more than eight years in a heinous crime that has nothing to do with humanity, values, morals, or religions, calling on everyone, led by the UN envoy, to do their part to end this tragedy.
The international delegation listened to the vision of Islah in Hadhramaut about the political movement Hadramout is witnessing today and the efforts to unify the Hadrami stakeholders, to keep Hadhramaut from slipping into the abyss of conflicts, and to find a common ground that meets the aspirations of the Hadramis in any upcoming political settlement that preserves partnership and equality.
The Islah local leadership emphasized the Islah party's position in support of efforts to achieve peace in Yemen and the requirements of normalizing life, stopping the war and ending the Houthi coup, building a modern state, solving humanitarian problems, addressing the deterioration of public services, the deterioration of the local currency, high prices, low per capita income and the catastrophic effects of all of this on the lives and livelihood of citizens.
