The head of Islah media department in Taiz Governorate, Ahmed Othman, denounced the campaign of fabrications and inventing inflammatory stories following the success of Taiz security services in arresting the killers of the director of the WFP office Moayad Hamidi, in Al-Turbah outskirt last Friday.
In a post on Facebook, Othman was surprised by the method of Yemen Today TV channel and some other news websites, in dealing with the incident and its repercussions, in a manner that lacks credibility and professionalism.
Othman said: "It seems that the brothers in charge of Yemen Today channel and some news sites were more disturbed by the success of the security services in Taiz to apprehend the perpetrators of the [UN employee] assassination so promptly, more they were disturbed by the assassination crime itself."
The head of Al-Islah media in Taiz pointed out that Yemen Today channel and news websites went, in an unjustified and incomprehensible way, to manufacture a campaign of fabrications, inventing inflammatory stories and making accusations that are baseless in reality, and in a manner that lacks credibility and the minimum level of professionalism.
He added, "It is as if the unity of the word of the parties, senior statesmen, and the majority of writers and opinion makers in confronting this serious crime and besieging it did not appeal to them."
He stressed that what happened is unfortunate, especially in such incidents that are supposed to be managed with high professionalism, away from the dust of the past and the fumes of small intrigues, and the poisons of settling private scores at the expense of the truth and the interest of the country.
