Local sources in the southern governorate of Abyan reported the death of a mental patient under torture in one of the prisons of the armed militias affiliated with the separatist Transitional Council in the governorate.
The sources confirmed that Muhammad Hassan Abdo Mahdi Qaid died on Sunday, one day after his release from the Security Belt prisons of the Transitional Council in Jaar district of Abyan governorate.
The sources added that Muhammad who suffered from a psychological condition and deafness used to work as a vendor who sells drinking water bottles, tissues, and other light items, on the main street in the city of Ataq, the provincial capital of southeastern Shabwa governorate
The sources stated that the victim who hails from Ibb governorate in north Yemen was traveling from Ataq towards his home governorate when he was kidnapped by armed militiamen manning a checkpoint in Abyan and threw him in a militia-run jail, where he was brutally tortured to death.
The widespread pictures show that the victim was subjected to horrific torture in all parts of his body, and he breathed his last breast a day after his release from prison, obviously succumbing to torture.
