A child has been killed and 5 other children injured when a Houthi-laid landmine exploded in Shawkan, Mawiyah district, south of Taiz. The Director of the Directorate, Abdul Jabbar Al-Sarari, stated today that the child Arafat Abdo Ghaleb, 15, was killed and 5 others were injured in the blast of a landmine planted by the Houthi militia, while grazing sheep in the Al-Sha'b Al-Ahmar area of Mawiyah.
Meanwhile, Mayon Organization for Human Rights strongly condemned the attack launched by the foreign-backed terrorist Houthi militia on civilians in Wadi Nakhla, Hays district, south of Hodeidah, which resulted in the injury of five children between the ages of eight and thirteen while they were grazing livestock.
Houthi militants fired mortar shells on them which constitutes a flagrant violation of the Convention on the Rights of the Child and international humanitarian law," the organization said in a statement.
The organization called for an immediate end to these horrific violations, and to ensure that the perpetrators do not go unpunished.
