Government team: Houthi denial of visits to Qahtan will prompt us to suspend upcoming negotiations

The spokesman for the government negotiating team regarding the prisoners and abductees, Majid Fadhail, said that the Houthi denial of visits to the detained politician Muhammad Qahtan, and Houthi refrainment from disclosing his status will prompt the government to suspend the negotiations with the terror militia, referring to the next round of negotiations scheduled to take place in mid-May.

Fadhail said in televised statements that the government negotiating team agreed with the militia's delegation during the last round that there would be a round of negotiations in mid-May, preceded by visits between Marib and Sanaa to see the conditions of the abductees and prisoners, including Muhammad Qahtan, and that was signed.

A member of the government team confirmed that the Houthi militia's refusal to allow visits to Qahtan and disclose his status will push the government not to allow the Houthis any visit to Marib, stressing the need to visit all the abductees and those hidden by the militia, headed by the leader Muhammad Qahtan, to check on him and know his situation, before any negotiations, unless there will be no round and it will be suspended until the militias respond to these demands.
