The Houthi militia has intensified its large deployment in the streets of the city of Ibb, and imposed more restrictions on the movement of citizens in the old city of Al-Mashnah district.
Informed sources reported that the Houthi militia deployed its members as a new "force" from Saada and Sana'a, days after previous reinforcements belonging to the militia's so-called "Preventive Security".
Eyewitnesses said that the Houthi militia deployed armed elements wearing masks on their faces in the streets of the city of Ibb, in conjunction with the large deployment in the provincial capital, and imposed restrictions that impede the movement of citizens in the residential neighborhoods of the old city.
Witnesses added that the militia is carrying out thorough searches and demanding that the people and residents of the Old City show their identities and identification certified by the heads of neighborhoods during the process of exiting and entering their homes and residential neighborhoods.
According to many residents, the Houthi restrictions that impede the movement of citizens coincided with several campaigns of house raids and the kidnapping of dozens of residents of the Old City, on charges of participating in the funeral of the activist Hamdi Abdel-Razzaq, known as "Al-Mukhal".
Earlier, 20 human rights organizations said, in a joint statement, that the patrols of the Houthi militia are spreading in the city's alleys, setting up checkpoints and continuing to kidnap many unarmed young men who participated in the funeral, instilling fear among the community and working to restrict the movement of citizens within the neighborhoods without indifference.
