The Yemeni government has obtained a clear commitment from international organizations involved in education support not to finance the printing of sectarian curricula prepared by the Houthi militia, as was previously reported. The government also secured promise from these organization to search for funding to print the approved curricula in the non-Houthi areas for the next academic year.
Asharq Al-Awsat learned from sources in the Yemeni presidency that the Department of International Organizations in the Presidency's office, and officials in the relevant ministries, held several meetings with international and relief organizations working within the education sector, following the spread of news about a tendency among some organizations to finance the printing of the sectarian curriculum that Houthis had prepared and imposed in their areas of control.
