Yemen's Congregation for Reform (the Islah) party has strongly condemned the armed ambush on a UN convoy in eastern Yemen's Hadhramout on Friday, which led to the killing and injury of several soldiers escorting the convoy.
In a statement on Sunday, the Hadhramout branch office of the Islah said it "condemns the criminal attack that killed two soldiers and injured" others, members of the army's Special Tasks Battalion, as they were performing their duty" of escorting a UN's IOM convoy on a highway leading westward to Marib.
"We in the Islah, leaders and grassroots condemn these rejected legally and reason and tradition wise," read the statement. The Islah party condoled the relatives of the slain soldiers and all people of Hadhramout.
