A Houthi gunman killed four people and injured three others from the same family in the Houthi militia-controlled central Yemen governorate of Dhamar on Saturday for unknown reasons, local sources have said.
The militant known as Sayf Al-Daer shot dead community leader Moqbel Naser Al-Kathiri, his son Mohammed and Saleh Al-Kathiri and wounded four others in Al-Karaa village in the governorate, the sources said.
The Houthi militia have launched a heavy-handed campaign of crackdowns, disappearances and abuse against community leaders in Dhamar under various pretexts killing some of them in detention facilities and ambushing others on highways.
