Security authorities in Yemen's eastern Hadhramout province re-arrested on Thursday an al-Qaeda militant who had escaped jail months ago, Saba news agency said quoting the "Interior Minister Maj. Gen. Ibrahim Haydan."
The local security authorities reportedly arrested Fahad Dhamar, one of Al-Qaeda's most dangerous elements, who had escaped jail last Ramadan and are on the hunt for other militants.
Al-Qaeda militants led by Al-Qaeda senior figure Naser Al-Shaybah have carried out a wave of armed shootings against government forces in Hadhramout and ambushes against government forces in southeastern Abyan in the past months.
