As the European Union calls on the Houthi militia to deal positively with the efforts of the UN envoy to Yemen Hans Grundberg and his proposal to lift the siege on Taiz, which the militia announced its rejection to, the UN Security Council will hold a session next Monday to discuss the Houthi obstructions in the way of the truce's success.
The council will also discuss the challenges facing Grundberg in his efforts to make the truce a success and to initiate comprehensive political negotiations. "Okaz" learned from Yemeni diplomatic sources that the Security Council is preparing to discuss the Houthis' obstacles to the truce, their refusal to open roads in Taiz, and the extent of all parties' commitment to the terms of the truce. It is expected that the meeting will come out with decisions to punish the Houthi militia.
