The Yemeni Congregation for Reform (Islah) party has condemned in the strongest terms the assassination of charity figure Dr. Abdulazaq Albaqama who is a leader in the armed resistance against the terrorist Houthi group in Marib.
In a statement on Saturday, the Islah said Albaqama's assassination on Friday evening was the work of cowardly hands, expressing the deep sorrow of the paty and the people of Marib and Yemen in general over this tragic loss.
The Islah praised the heroic performance of Albaqama in standing to the Houthi terror organization's barbaric war on Marib and contributing to the unification of the ranks of the pro-government forces. It also referred to the cohesiveness of the ranks of forces defending Marib in the face of the terrorist organization adding that the assassination crime will only further consolidate the rejection of the terrorists and determination to counter them.
The party demanded the security authorities to promptly track down the perpetrators and bring them to justice to receive deterrent punishment.
The Islah renewed its call on all political stakeholders in Marib to unify ranks in the defining battle against the terror organization.
