Contrary to hoped-for withdrawals, Houthi militants escalate war in Taiz

Contrary to hoped-for withdrawals, Houthi militants escalate war in Taiz

By Abdullah Abu Al-Hassan

As many people of Taiz innocently believe and hold hope in the success of the "Jordan talks to result in a serious pullback of Houthi militants laying a seven year siege on their provincial capital, the Shia militants have escalated war in the province, local sources have said.

The pampered Shia terrorists fired heavy shells into the city on Tuesday and renewed ground advance attempts to the provincial capital's west triggering what local sources described as "ferocious confrontations" with the army.

Sources reported intensive Houthi shelling in the 'Air Defense' battlefront near the city and Jabal Habashi mountainous district to the city's west early on Wednesday.

Even though the talks have not finished as the participating Houthi delegation drags feet and uses delay tactics, it is easy to predict now that the Shia extremists will never lift the siege unless forced.
