UN envoy, European ambassadors decline to comment on Houthi siege of Abdiya

The Saudi daily Al-Sharq Al-Awsat said on Tuesday have declined to comment on the Houthi militia's siege on Abdiya, south of Yemen's Marib governorate.

In a report headlined "A Houthi siege of Abdiya amidst international silence," Al-Sharq Al-Awsat said it "posed a question to the office of UN Special Envoy for Yemen and to the British and British ambassadors for Yemen over what is going on in Abdiya, but it has not received any immediate reply."

The reported quoted the Yemeni government's spokesman Rajeh Badi wondering," Has the world heard that a warring party is using ballistic missiles in an internal fighting against villages and small cities?  – save of course the Assad regime. Villages overpopulated with civilians are being shelled with ballistic missiles … where is the international conscience?"
