Women staged rallies in Yemen's Marib governorate on Monday in solidarity with the people of Abdiya, a region in the governorate's south, facing siege and bombardment by the Houthi militia for 20 days now.
Dozens of women including students from the besieged outskirt but pursuing higher education and living in the governorate's capital organized the rallies in front and condemned the international community's indifference to the Houthi militia's genocidal war against civilians in the entire governorate.
The protesters condemned the double-standard policy of the international community toward humanitarian issues in Yemen citing the sympathy with Houthis and obstruction of the army's liberation of Hodeidah in the past years on alleged fears over civilian lives.
The women said the international humanitarian organizations she crocodile tears over the humanitarian situation while selectively ignoring the humanitarian tragedies from the Houthi war.
In a statement, the women demanded the UN agencies to urgently intervene to save the civilians in Alabdiya mainly the women, children, elderly and patient and to supply thousands of besieged people with food and medicines, commodities that have run out from the district.
