Three civilians including a child were killed and seven others were wounded in street warfare between rival factions of the Southern Transitional Council STC militia in Yemen's Aden city this Saturday, local sources have said.
The clashes erupted between a senior STC militant Imam Al-Noobi and a "police station" in Crater district in downtown Aden this Saturday morning and are continuing until the moment of writing this report in the afternoon. The clashes involved armored vehicles, rockets and snipers exchanged from rooftops.
Distress calls were heard from homes and mosques appealing to the fighters to stop. Aden, the supposed seat of the government, is seeing a permanent state of lawlessness and frequent infighting between factions of the STC rebels controlling it.
