Two child sheepherders wounded by Houthi landmine in central Yemen

Two children were wounded by a Houthi-laid landmine in Taiz city in central Yemen on Sunday, local sources have said.

The fifteen-year-old boy and 10-year–old girl were looking after their sheep in the countryside of Mokha district, Taiz, when a landmine exploded and wounded them both. With wounds in the eye and head, the girl sustained critical injuries, the sources said.

Yemeni government sources said two years ago the Houthis had planted more than one million landmines in the country by then.
