Army and tribes inch close to retaking central Yemen city from Houthi militants

Yemen's army and its tribal supporters are inching close to recapturing the provincial capital of central Yemen's Al Beidha city from Houthi militants who seized it with much of northern Yemen in 2014, local official sources said.

The Director-General of Media and PR Department at the governor's office Aref al-Omari said in a tweet, "the army has in the past hours managed to liberate Qerba network, Amsodana, Dha Makhshab, Jahoor, Alghalima and Al Mudhaffar" of Al Beidha province and affirmed that the army is "inching close to liberating" the provincial capital.

The Yemeni army had launched a military operation two days ago with the aim of retaking the province from the theoretic terrorist militia.
