Yemen: Wide condemnations of Houthi terror attack on Marib

The Houthi ballistic missile and drone attacks that killed 17 civilians and injured in eastern Yemen's Marib city on Saturday drew condemnations from various authorities and organizations in Yemen.

"This is a dangerous criminal attack that should not escape punishment," said the Ministry of Legal Affair and Human Rights in a statement appealing to the international community to pressure the Houthi militia to stop these terror attacks.

"This heinous terrorist attack is an episode in the non-stopping series of Houthi deliberate attacks on neighborhoods in the city of Marib aiming to incur as many casualties as possible," said Information Minister Muammar al-Eryani calling on the UN and US envoys to "depart from the zone of silence and condemn these despicable crimes."

The Yemeni Network for Rights and Freedoms called the attack "a horrible massacre against humanity" demanding the UN Security Council to start "a probe into the constant Houthi terrorist attacks" against civilians and IDPs in Marib. The network also called for "an international prosecution of the perpetrators."

The Houthi militia fired a ballistic missile on a petrol station in Marib killing civilians queuing up to fill their cars and minutes later a Houthi drone dropped bombs and killed the rescue teams and bystanders.
