Civilians mostly children suffer critical wounds by Houthi shelling in central Yemen

Seven civilians including five children have been critically wounded as Houthi extremists fired shells into a neighborhood in the central Yemeni city of Taiz on Sunday, local sources said.

Houthi mortar shells landed on Arowdha neighborhood, days after the Houthi self-proclaimed governor for Taiz, Salim Mughalles, vowed to make the oppositionists “cry.”

The Shia theocratic militants maintain a six year siege around the city and, from their hilltop vantage points around the city, keep pounding its densely populated neighborhoods with rockets and heavy rounds killing and injuring civilians on a continual basis.

As the army started recently an operation to break the strangling siege and liberate the rest of the city, the militia intensified attacks on neighborhoods to induce a public pressure against the army.
