Houthis create panel to suppress nationalistic trends in graduation ceremonies

The Houthi militia have created a panel to supervise graduation ceremonies in Yemen's biggest University of Sana'a to suppress the nationalistic trends of graduation ceremonies.

Al-Asimah Online news website reported that students and university employees affiliated to the Shia sectarian militia created the club to supervise and control graduation ceremony plans and approve and disapprove what the ceremony program contains.

The militia's panel have already decided to ban mixed (men-women) ceremonies as of next year despite the opposition amongst university students.

The Houthi move comes after graduation ceremonies started to include rousing nationalistic anthems in their programs in what the militia understood as a message of opposition to their de facto rule.
