A military source said on Saturday the government forces have pressed forward on areas held by the UAE-created militia of the STC.
"The government forces managed to control Medayfeen mountain [in the southern province of Abyan] at a time as it maintains besieging AL-Sorari mount where the STC militia are based," it said.
Clashes continue elsewhere, in al-Tariya and Sheikh Salem areas in Zunubar, within Abyan.
The STC, a supposed ally of the government against Houthi putschists in the north, turned on the government in August 2019 and ended its nominal presence in Aden as part of a foreign plot to disrupt the first chance in Yemen's history to transform into a democracy.
