Female relatives to detainees stage a sit-in in Taiz

Alsahwa Net-The Abductees’ Mothers Association held on Wednesday a sit-in in Taiz demanding the release of their male relatives held captives, without conditions.

The sit-in, which was held before the governor’s office, held all parties in Yemen responsibility over safety of their detained relatives.

The association has documented the abduction of 210 civilians and forcibly disappearing of other 47 by the Houthis militia, a statement by the association said.

The detention of six civilians were blamed on the government forces.

It said that the association is aware of the suffering inflicted on relatives of detainees who also suffer repercussion of the fighting and the besiege.

It asked for the fate disclosure of enforced disappeared people and release of all arbitrarily detainees.

It called on the United Nations (UN) Envoy to Yemen to exercise pressures on Yemen parties to implement previous agreements on the release of detainees.

It called on all local and international human rights groups to intensify efforts to save lives of illegal detainees and enforced disappeared people.
