Yemen: Houthis undermine Stockholm agreement

Alsahwa Net- Permanent Representative of Yemen to the United Nations (UN), Abdullah Al-Sa’di, said on Tuesday that the Houthis continue undermining peace efforts by introducing new conditions and mounting attacks on the Yemeni people in various areas.

Al-Sa’da voiced this during his meeting with the head of the UN Security Council, Inga Rohanda King.

He said that the Houthis use the Stockholm agreement to mount escalation and open new fronts and target civilians using ballistic missiles and uncrewed aerial vehicles.

He affirmed on the UNSC to assume its responsibility and exercise pressures on the Houthis to stop their purposeless fighting against the Yemeni people.

He highlighted the Safer issue and the Houthis’ undermining to the UN experts to access and assess conditions of the vessel.

He indicated that the Houthis’ defiance will lead to an environmental and economic catastrophe that will worsen suffering of millions of Yemenis.

He asked the UNSC to take prompt actions to stop Houthis’ manipulation with the Safer tanker issue to avert imminent disaster.
