Cartoonist Rashad Assamiee painted the UN peace mediator Griffiths pushing back a government-tank that wants to advance on Houthi-held Hodeidah city, while pushing a Houthi tank to go to the government-held Marib.
The cartoon is a metaphor for the UN’s pressures that has aborted the government’s attempt to advance on Hodeidah and silence for Houthis as they attempt to advance on Marib.
It is part of a growing satisfaction among Yemeni artists and writers that the UN is taking the side of the Iranian Houthi militia in the Yemeni war.
