One waterborne explosive device intercepted in the Red Sea

Alsahwa Net-The Saud-led coalition said that its joint forces intercepted on Sunday a waterborne explosive device sent to water by the Houthis, south the Red Sea.

Spokesman of the Saudi-led coalition, Turki Al-Maliki, said that the Naval forces of the coalition reported on Sunday’s evening a terror attempt by the Houthis for doing a hostile act south the Red Sea by using a waterborne explosive device that the Houthis sent to the waters from Hodeida.

He added that the explosive device was destroyed, and that the act threatens regional and international security and the world navigation lanes.

Al-Maliki said that the Houthis use Hodeida governorate as a base for launching ballistic missiles, uncrewed aerial vehicles and waterborne explosive devices.

These acts blatantly violate the international humanitarian law and terms of the Stockholm ceasefire agreement on Hodeida, Al-Maliki said.

He affirmed that the command of the Coalition's Joint Forces continues taking decisive measures against the Houthis by neutralizing and destroying such capacities that threaten the regional and international security.

This followed an earlier statement by the Saudi-led coalition on destroying one uncrewed aerial vehicle on Abha city which resulted into fall of shrapnel on the city’s airport.
