Calls for Al-Riyadh agreement implementation gain more momentum

Alsahwa Net- Yemeni politicians said in quotes to the London-based Asharq Al-Awsat daily Newspaper that the implementation of Al-Riyadh agreement is the only way to end disputes among the pro-government forces and unify efforts towards confronting the Houthis’ coup.

Deputy Secretary of Information, Abdulbaset Al-Kaedi, said that the Al-Riyadh agreement remains the good exit as it addresses the crisis in a real and systematic approach and offers solutions that will bring back the state order.

He added that the implementation of the agreement enjoys national support by the parties that signed the agreement and the pro-legitimate government forces.

Al-Kaedi said that the weight of Saudi Arabia as a sponsor of the agreement is one of the qualities that profiles the agreement to be an effective and more feasible exit.

He affirmed that the Houthis’ threat represents the most serious threat.

“We have no choice, but to turn a new page and be up to the threat volume that threatens the existence of the Yemeni state,” Al-Kaedi said.

For his part, Fares Al-Bile, a Yemeni academic and researcher, called on all the Yemeni parties to feel the volume of the grand responsibility towards Yemen and sufferings of the citizens and to utilize the Saudi efforts for the legitimate authority.

He said that there is a need for strictness and transparency to hindrance of the agreement implementation with no tolerance to slow or postpone any term of the agreement.

“Leaving any gap will create excuses, sequenced failure and more violent confrontation and eventually total collapse,” said Al-Bile.

The Yemeni writer, Ahmed Abass, said that continuation of disagreements among parties that support the government, means more expansion by the Houthis in various parts of the country and loss of hope among the citizens towards the retrieval of the state.

He said that the government and the Southern Transitional Council (STC) must utilize the Saudi support and put Yemen’s interests above all narrowed benefits.
