Southern local authorities oppose separatists’ declaration on self-administration

Alsahwa Net- Leaders of local authorities in the southern governorates declared on Sunday their rejection of the state of emergency and self-administration declared on Saturday by the southern separatists who are also known as the Southern Transitional Council (STC).

They renewed their allegiance to the President Abd Rabo Mansour Hadi.

The governor of Hadramout, Faraj Al-Bohsuni, said in a statement that the local authority of Hadhramaut stand for the political leadership headed by Hadi.

He said that the STC’s statement on the state of emergency and self-administration of the south is “an irresponsible act and abuses the legitimate leadership of Yemen and Al-Riyadh agreement.”

For their part, local authorities of Al-Mahra, Shabwa and Socotra declared their oppose to the STC’s state of emergency and self-administration and said that such move forms a blatant coup against the legitimate government and the Al-Riydah agreement.

The STC which seized control of Aden and other nearby governorates last early August announced on Saturday the state of emergency and self-administration of south Yemen following calls by western diplomats and Saudi officials for swift implementation of the Al-Riyadh agreement.
