Armed clashes erupt in Aden

Alsahwa Net- Armed clashes broke out late Thursday night in Aden between armed factions of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), an armed separation group based in Aden.

The fighting took place around the 20-camp in Crater district.

Although clashes ceased for some hours on Friday’s morning, they renewed on the same day’s noon, local sources said.

General Manager of Sira district, Khaled Sedo, said in a conversation with Alsahwa Net, that causes of the fighting remain unknown to the local authority.

He indicated that insecurity has become recurrent in Aden because the local authority excises no control over the security forces including the police forces.

Sedo demanded relocation of military camps to outside Aden and assigning security of the city to one specific formal body to save the city from the ongoing lawlessness.

He said that he himself was a victim to such insecurity where he survived assassination attempt on 29 January.

The security forces took no action to pursue perpetrators despite being informed with names of the suspects, according to Sedo.
