Houthis launch new conscription in Ibb

Alsahwa Net- The Houthis militia has launched a new forcible enrollment in several towns of Ibb governorate amid increasing loss of their fighters.

The Houthis obligated their affiliated tribal leaders to supply their warfronts with new fighters.

The action coincides with ongoing fierce fighting between the Houthis and the government forces in Al-Jawf, Marib and Al-Dhala’.

Each tribal leader is required to recruit four people from every village, and anyone refuses must pay money in exchange of exemption from the participation in the fighting.

Local sources said that the Houthis militants focus their new conscription in districts with bad living standards such as Al-Qafr district, north Ibb.

The Houthis-affiliated undersecretary of Ibb, Abdulfatah Ghalab, who comes from the same district is leading the conscription activities in his hometown.

Ghalab with other Houthis officials imposed illegal fees on citizens of his hometown for keeping their children away from joining the Houthis’ forces.

The conscription activities coincided also with arrival of the Houthis’ dead fighters to their home villages of Ibb.

The Houthis held on Friday funeral of six militants who came from Al-Sabra district. The six militants were killed while fighting for the Houthis’ side against the government forces in Al-Jawf.
