Military committee begins forces reorganizing in Aden

Alsahwa Net- Military sources in Aden said that the Military Committee that is tasked of reorganizing military forces in Aden to be under the government’s command, has begun its work.

The committee is composed of members from the government and the southern rebels knows as the Southern Transitional Council (STC).

The committee’s formation and work are part of the Al-Riyadh agreement that was signed on 5 November between the government and the STC.

The Saudi-led coalition will supervise work of the military committee, according to text of Al-Riyadh agreement.

The Saudi state-run Okaz Newspaper quoted military sources in Aden that the committee will reorganize the First Brigade of the Presential Protection Forces and the other forces in Aden to be commanded by the defense ministry within the Fourth Military Region in line to the military annex of the Al-Riyadh agreement.

Heavy and medium weapons will be moved to military camps outside Aden city within 15 days of the agreement signing.

These weapons include tanks, armored vehicles, artillery, katyusha missiles, mortar shells, heat-seeking missiles and heavy machineguns.

Implementation of the Al-Riyadh agreement is intended to end the southern rebellion in Aden and allow the government to resume its work from the interim capital Aden.
