Alsahwa Net- The Secretary General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit deplored on Wednesday Iran’s official recognition of the Houthis rebels by handing premises of the Yemen’s diplomatic mission to the rebels.

Aboul Gheit said in a press statement that this step by Tehran represents grave violation of the international diplomatic treaty, Charter of the United Nations (UN), Vienna Conventions on Diplomatic Relations and the UN Security Council resolutions on Yemen.

An official of the Arab League General Secretary, stated in the same statement that the act reflect Iran’s persistence to continue its hostile behavior by targeting Yemen’s stability.

The source affirmed the Arab League’s support to appropriate legal actions that the Yemeni legitimate government will take to preserve its sovereignty and independence.

It indicated that the international community must take its legal responsibility towards such acts by Iran.

The Yemen’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned on Tuesday the Iran’s recognition of the Houthis’ representative and handing him Yemen’s diplomatic premises in Tehran.
