Sudan denies Houthis’ allegations on their loss in Yemen

Al-Sahwa Net- The Sudanese Defense Ministry refuted news by the Houthis military spokesman on the casualty of the Sudanese forces in Yemen.

Amer Al-Hasan, the Sudanese Armed Forces Spokesman said that the Houthis’ statement on the number of the Sudanese troops killed in Yemen is merely lies. He added such statement is intended to damage the moral of the Sudanese forces that participate in the fighting in Yemen for the Saudi-led coalition.

He said that circulated news on withdrawal of 10,000 Sudanese troops is inaccurate.

The Houthis said this week that the Sudanese army toll in Yemen exceeded 8,000 dead and injured troops since the breakout of the fighting in Yemen.

The Houthis said that the number of the Sudanese dead soldiers in Yemen reached 4,253 and the wounded troops were over 3,700 troops.

The Houthis’ Military Spokesman said that nearly 5,000 troops of the Sudanese forces are mainly deployed in Al-Khawba and Samta of Saudi Arabia border with Yemen under the name of the Fifth and sixth brigades.

He added that other Sudanese troops are deployed in Hodeida, Aden and Lahj.

Infantry units of the Sudanese Army participate in the Yemen’s fighting since the Saudi-led coalition began a military campaign in March 2015 to restore the government and end the Houthis rebels’ rule.
