Chief of Islah party renews support for Saudi-led efforts to retrieve Yemeni state

Alsahwa Net- Mohammed Al-Yadoumi, chief of the Islah party renewed his party’s support to the country’s President Abd Rabo Mansour Hadi and the Saudi-led efforts to retrieve the state of Yemen.

Al-Yadoumi pronounced this in a long-televised speech he delivered on Thursday to his party members and the Yemeni people on the 29th anniversary of the party’s establishment.

“The Islah will not shake its supportive position to the President Abd Rabo Mansour Hadi and his brother leaders in the Saudi-led coalition,” said Al-Yadoumi.

He reaffirmed that the key goal for the party is to build a state for everyone in Yemen in line to democracy principles and liberties protection.

“The Islah had and still has a solid unshakable faith in the necessity of building the state institutions to have an effective state for every Yemeni citizen that should be a safe umbrella for everyone seeks reform and combat corruption,” said Al-Yadoumi.

He emphasized that his party still committed to peaceful power transfer and rejects any use of violence by any group to ascend the power.

“The Islah’s faith in peaceful power transfer is unshakable regardless of any circumstance,” he said.

Yemen is at war since late 2014 when the Houthis rebels supported then by the former president Ali Abdullah Saleh seized the capital Sana’a. Saudi Arabia, the biggest Yemen’s neighbor started on 26 March 2015 a large-scale military to reinstate the government and end the Houthi’s coup.

However, a new rebellion was launched on 10 August 2019 by separation rebels who seized Aden, the new temporary capital of the government. The separation rebels known as the Southern Transitional Council (STC) are supported by the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the main Arab ally to Saudi Arabia for its military campaign in Yemen.

Al-Yadoumi highlighted the old and the new rebellion in Yemen were orchestrated using the same pretext which is to eliminate the Islah party, yet consequences of both plots were the fall of the Yemeni state, lost of public services and damage of the public peace.

He explained that some forces supported by foreign agendas magnify the Islah’s share of the government to deepen conflict causes in Yemen and hinder success of any political solution. He added the same allegation was used by the Houthis’ coup and its supporters in Sana’a in September 2014 and by the separation rebels in Aden in August 2019.

“The Islah rejects such allegations and affirms that the new rebellion [in Aden] has distracted Yemenis from the main battle against the Houthi’s coup,” he said, “The rebels [in Aden] must be aware that they have stabbed the legitimate government in the back and that such thing benefits only the Houthis in Sana’a.”

Yet, he vowed his party support for combating both rebellions in Sana’a and Aden

“The Islah will remain present from Sa’ada to Aden and from Al-Mahra to Hodeida exercising its role within lines of the public and the resistance forces in support for the national army until Yemen is recovered from implications of the Iran’s intervention and separation proposals,” Al-Yadoumi said.

Moreover, Al-Yadoumi strongly criticized the UAE bombing of the government forces late last August while in a mission to end the separation rebellion in Aden.

He expressed his trust in the Saudi’s ability to resolve implications of such attacks against Yemen’s armed forces towards ending the rebellion in Aden.

Furthermore, Al-Yadoumi reaffirmed his party’s rejection of terrorism. Yet, he called for a comprehensive integrated approach that combines education, media programs and economic development to combat terrorism.

He highlighted that it is only the state forces who are responsible and authorized to combat terrorism and all non-government armed groups must be not be involved in such missions.

He concluded his speech with his party’s emphasis on supporting women and youth to take part in building Yemen and to protect women against any inferior views or attitudes.
