Government: no dialogue with separation rebels

Alsahwa Net- Rageh Badi, spokesman of the government refuted on Wednesday any talks or dialogue with the Emirati-supported separation Southern Transitional Council (STC).

He noted that some Yemeni state leaders are in Jeddah of Saudi Arabia by directions from President Abd Rabo Mansour Hadi to hold talks with the Saudi officials to end the Emirati-supported rebellion in south Yemen.

“The government renews its declared stance of welcoming the dialogue that was called by the Saudi foreign ministry. Yet, we would like to clarify that until now nothing has been taken yet with the so called Southern Transitional Council [STC],” said Badi.

He affirmed that Yemen’s unity and security are not set for discussion or bargain.

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) which supports separation rebels in south Yemen, struck the government forces late last August while on a military mission to end an armed rebellion in Aden and Abyan.

Badi expressed the government’s appreciation of resilience shown by the Yemen’s armed forces and the people of Yemen towards defending security, safety and unity of the country.

A delegation of the government and the STC arrived Jeddah mid this week in response to the Saudi call for dialogue to end the ongoing rebellion in Aden.
