Military spokesman: Houthis wage full-scale war in Hodeida

Alsahwa Net- Wadah Al-Dabaish, spokesman of the military operations for Western Coast Liberation forces said in a statement published by the London-based Asharq Al-Awsat Daily Newspaper that the Houthis militants have been waging “a full-scale war” over the last three weeks and not merely breach of ceasefire.

He explained that the Houthis on Monday used heavy weapons and bombed randomly at 22nd May Hospital, Al-Saleh City, Ikhwan Thabit Plant- Complex and City Max.

He added that the Houthis for the first time of their recent bombing against liberated areas of Hodeida, have used modified-Katusha missiles. He indicated that this escalation by the Houthis coincided with planned meeting between General, Michael Lollesgaard, chief of the Redeployment Coordination Committee and General Saghir Bin Aziz chief of the government representatives to the committee that was supposed to be held last Sunday.

The meeting was set to discuss a tri-check mechanism that was agreed upon in line with the military operations concept.

Al-Dabaish said that the government representatives informed Lollesgaard that the meeting will discuss only this issue and will not respond to any other talks or moving into another phase until fulfilling this aspect, verifying withdrawal, removing landmines and military signs through daily check for two weeks at seaports in Hodeida.

He explained that the Houthis sent huge reinforcements that included newly trained militants of dogmatists to the western coast.
