Houthis storm, besiege houses of MPs in Sana’a

Alsahwa Net- The Iran-backed Houthi rebels on Wednesday stormed into houses of parliamentarians, centered inside them and expelled their residents.

Local sources affirmed that Houthis stormed a number of MPs’ houses in Sana’a, looted their contents and stored weapons inside them.

This move came one day after declaring  that the Yemeni Parliament would resume its sessions in the southern city of Sayoun.

The Houthi last week cautioned Yemeni members of Parliament against leaving Sana’a, suspecting that they might join the legitimate government.

Dozens of MPs had managed to escape from Sana’a and joined the Yemeni government, however, the Houthis tighten their measures against MPs and put some of them under house arrest.

Informed sources said that a Houthi leader Mohammed Ali al-Houthi threatened Speaker of Parliament Yahya al-Rae and other MPs of facing the same fate of Saleh if they tried to escape.

Meanwhile, MPs who could escape to the government-controlled areas are to hold a session in the southern city of Sayoun on Monday.
