YJS condemns referral of Journalists to Specialized Terrorism Court

Alsahwa Net – The Yemeni Journalist Syndicate has condemned the referral of ten Yemeni journalists to the Specialized Terrorism Court.

YJS said that the journalists were brutally tortured, calling on all local and international human rights organizations to do their best in order to release the journalists.

The Iran-backed Houthi rebels on Wednesday referred 10 journalist to court under made-up charges.

The journalists Abdul-Khaliq Emran, Akram al-Walidi, al-Harith Humaid, Tawfeeq al-Mansouri, Hisham Tarmoum, Hisham al-Yusfi, Haitham Raweh, Essam Bel-Ghaith, Hassan Annab, Salah al-Ka’edi have been being detained in Houthi prisons without charges for over three years.

For its part, the National Organization for Yemeni Media Practitioners denounced the referral of the abducted journalists to court .

The organization expressed surprise over the local and international silence towards the Houthis behaviors, pointing out that the journalists are suffering due to denervation of treatment, demanding to swiftly release all journalists and end violations practiced against them.
