Cammeart accuses Houthis of destroying Yemen’s grain stocks

Alsahwa Net- The former chief of the international monitors of Yemen truce Patrick Cammeart has accused, in an interview with the Dutch de Volkskrant newspaper, the Houthis of destroying 20 % of Yemen’s grain stocks in Hodeida.

For its part, Yemen Foreign Ministry accused the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) of providing misleading information regarding the Houthi violations.

On its Twitter page, the ministry stressed that Cammreat’s remarks expose the deliberate misleading of OCHA’s office in Yemen, pointing out that OCHA disregards Houthi stealing and destruction of assistances.

Cammeart resigned after the Houthis refused to implement the redeployment plan based on the Sweden Agreement.

The UN has replaced Cammaert with Danish Major General Michael Anker Lollesgaard, who led a U.N. peacekeeping mission in Mali in 2015 and 2016.
