Information Minister slams statement of UN Envoy to Yemen

Alsahwa Net- Information Minister Muamar al-Eryani has slammed a statement issued by the UN Special Envoy to Yemen Martin Griffiths, and Under Secretary General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Mark Lowcock.

In a tweet on his twitter account, the minister said that statement was biased to the Iran-backed Houthi rebels, indicating that Griffiths acquiesced to pressures put on him by the Houthis.

Al-Eryani said that  Lowcock had previously held the Houthi militias responsible for preventing the storing of grains in the Red Sea Mills and obstructing the delivery of food supplies to the population.

Griffiths and Lowcock issued the statement on Monday in which they appreciated the Houthis’  earlier efforts “to re-open the road leading to the mills which have been carried out under difficult and dangerous circumstances”.

The minister affirmed that the Houthis had been violating the Stockholm Agreement for two months, pointing out that the statement ignored all concessions provided by the government.
